Guess what!? I’m an aunt! My sister Tracy gave birth to a little baby girl and they are both very happy and healthy. The little nugget doesn't have a name yet, but she is cute as a button and I can’t get enough of her!  But enough about babies - what about that dress, right!? I made Tracy two Deer and Doe Givre dresses to wear in the last three months of the pregnancy when all clothes feel the worst and everything is uncomfortable! I figured that these would work really well as casual dresses or holiday dresses, and I...

I do believe that getting out of your sewing comfort zone is important, so I am going for it! As Heather said so brilliantly on the podcast this week, ‘just do the damn thing’. For...

Thanks to everyone who has reached out to say that they can relate to my story and that they are feeling empowered to share! This really has given me a boost this week that I am using to fuel my making and my personal goals, so thank you for that! News (clockwise from top left) Tessuti released the Bondi Dress. Kalle Tunic
Posted by Helen | 15/01/2018 | Into My Closet

I have been wanting to share this make with you since December! This is the Kalle tunic from the Closet Case Patterns Kalle shirtdress pattern. I have loved this pattern ever since I met up with Heather when she came to Vancouver in 2016. She was wearing this white version. The pattern had not come out yet, but I was so ready to jump on it when it did! In the spring of 2017 when the pattern dropped, I was caught up in so many things that I didn’t get around to it that summer (I’m coming for you next...
