Sewing Makes You Love Yourself. When I read the name of this challenge, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. Organized by Athina Kakou, Lisa Kish, and Hattie van der Krohn, the SMYLY challenge (#smyly2018) is all about sharing your sewing story. Whether sewing has helped you get through a tough time in your life, encouraged you to break free creatively, or transformed the way you think about your body, we all have a deep connection with this practice that is worth sharing. Participate in #SMYLY2018 from January 1 until February 28th to be eligible for prizes. Sew something that makes you...

Happy New Year, makers! It is so nice to be on the other side of the holiday season (it was fun, but let’s be honest, it’s nice to be back to a ‘normal’ routine). I have seen so many amazing plans and resolutions being made in the sewing community and I can’t wait to see all your makes this year! I have plenty of plans myself, including some non-sewing projects like knitting, sashiko, and maybe some more dyeing this summer! Here’s to a creative 2018! News (clockwise from top left) Seamwork released the Skipper Sweatshirt and the Shelly Leggings. Cashmerette...

2018 make nine

Happy New Year! Making sewing goals for the new year is so much fun, I love thinking about what I want to make and getting inspired by projects like #sewmystyle and #2018makenine.  I participated in #2017makenine and it was the perfect reminder of the things I wanted to make at the start of the year. Check it out on Lucky Lucille! This year,...

Happy Wednesday! This week has gotten away from me a bit, I've been battling a cold and my partner, Sam is out of town. You know when you are sick and you just want somebody to wait on you hand and foot? Yeah, not happening. Thankfully I am feeling better today and am ready to take on the Holiday weekend! My family does Christmas movies & takeout on the eve and a big dinner on the day, so there will be plenty of pigging out and fun times together. We are welcoming my cousins from Ottawa this year and we...
