Knit projects are rapidly becoming my favourite things to sew.  I love how quickly they come together, how easily they fit, and how wearable they are. My grey Lark Tee is easily the most worn item in my closet, so I figured it was time to make a cozy pair of knit bottoms to match!

For my comfy sweats, I went with the queen of all sweatpants, the True Bias hudson pant.  I used this pattern once before to make a woven version, but I hadn’t gotten around to making them as intended until now.  We shot a couple times for this post because it was so rainy!  Apologies in advance for the mish-mash of photos.

These sweatpants are super comfortable and effortless.  They could be dressed up a bit (maybe in another color), and the cut and style is very modern.  I wanted a warm pair of sweats for the winter, so I made these out of brushed back lycra.  It is a thicker lycra fabric with a fleecy texture on the back, perfect for running errands in the winter weather.

I chose grey so they would be nice and neutral, and I think i’ll make a black pair as well.  It was hard to resist all the brightly coloured stretch fabric at the store, but I know i’ll get more wear out of these plain ones.

I’m way behind the bandwagon with these pants, so I probably don’t need to tell you how great this pattern is…but I will anyways!  The construction is really simple, the instructions are clear, and this pattern is available for women, men, and kiddos!  Check it out over on True Bias.

I used a zig-zag stitch to finish my Hudsons, no serger required for this one!  I accidentally forgot to put in the buttonholes, so my pants don’t have the cool drawstring, but that’s ok – they stay up just fine on their own.
