Wednesday Weekly #34

Better late than never, right?  My day got away from me yesterday, and while ‘Thursday Weekly’ doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, I wouldn’t want to miss out on sharing these awesome links with you!  So many inspiring makes this week, I am really feeling the sewing envy!

News

Me Made May is just around the corner!  There are lots of pledges rolling in, you can still make your pledge here.  I am excited to participate, this is my first one!

Closet Case files released a highly sought after boyfriend jeans pattern, the Morgan Jeans! Heather has paired up with Jenny from Workroom Social to offer a pre-order sale on kits to make these jeans.  I think I am going to order one, they look perfect!

Blueprints for Sewing released an amazing pattern design, the Geodesic Sweater.  How cool are those triangles?!  I love the way the pockets sit in the triangles too, so amazing 🙂

If you have lusted after Madalynne’s amazing lingerie but have not braved the world of lingerie making yourself yet, you can buy her designs from Urban Outfitters!  They are stunning, as always.

Makes

This polka dot ruffle blouse from Ladulsatina is so pretty!

Another very pretty silk blouse from Barbara Jane Made.

Jasika’s secretary dress from Gertie’s Ultimate Dress Book is absolute perfection.

Speaking of Gertie, how awesome is her latest make?

Pauline Alice made a gorgeous Isla Trench coat from Named.

This tweed jacket that Hanne made for her mother is amazing.

A collection of Maya tops from Randomly Happy.  I need to make some quick tops myself!

As usual, Sophie blew me away with her latest creation.

A lovely, simple tunic from Crab & Bee.  The white detailing really makes this special.
I am overcome with fabric envy looking at this faux-dress from Katie.  Where does she get these amazing prints?!

Karen’s Joan dress is absolutely stunning.

Inspiration

Marilla Walker shared some interesting thoughts on the zero waste sewing method and created this stunning zero-waste dress and some amazing hand-made buttons.  This technique is so interesting, but so foreign to me having always used a pattern.  I do agree, though, that the pattern layouts provided always leave me with so much waste. It is challenging to find projects that I want to make that only require ¾ meter or less.  I also wouldn’t want to buy way more fabric just to have less of it go to waste in the cutting process.  Would you try a zero-waste project?
