This week on Love to Sew, Caroline and I dive deep into patterns with tips for organizing, storing, and collecting sewing patterns. If you haven't listened yet, you can head to the Love to Sew Podcast website or listen wherever you download podcasts! I recently put all my patterns in Trello so I can view them anytime time on my computer or phone. Sewing Plans
Posted by Helen | 27/11/2017 | Sewing Plans

Nothing gets the sew-jo going like planning out projects! As a very visual learner, I perform best when I can see plans and ideas in a visual format. It is one of the things that drew me to graphic design and illustration, and now I can use those skills to make a roadmap of my sewing plans for each season. I don't always get around to all of them but it is so much fun to think ahead and I'm sure I will make quite a few. The Lander Pant is my favorite pattern to be released this fall and I am so happy for Kelli from True Bias. Kelli recently made the jump to paper patterns and the Landers are available in print from her shop! If you want to hear more about this process from Kelli herself, check out episode 8 of the Love to Sew podcast! For my Landers, I really wanted to make a pair in denim. I had so many light denim crop pants pinned on my inspiration board, and this pattern totally fit the bill! I used a non-stretch cotton denim from Blackbird...

Happy Wednesday! I want to thank all of the bloggers and pattern designers who have contacted me to give me their information about their blogs and companies. In almost all the emails I received, people were a little timid and shy about sharing and I know it can be really hard to put yourself out there! I really appreciate it and I hope that people continue to point me to their creative projects, I love to share! This week we have TWO first patterns from new designers so I hope you explore all the goodness below. Congrats to Ann and Amy!...

Capsule Wardrobe
Posted by Helen | 13/11/2017 | Love to Sew Podcast

In truth, this challenge was hard for both of us, and we are on the fence about whether this actually made getting dressed any easier, but it did force us both to get creative! We used Lee Vosburgh's 10x10 challenge as our framework, so we only had 10 items for 10 days...
