Happy Wednesday! This week has gotten away from me a bit, I've been battling a cold and my partner, Sam is out of town. You know when you are sick and you just want somebody to wait on you hand and foot? Yeah, not happening. Thankfully I am feeling better today and am ready to take on the Holiday weekend! My family does Christmas movies & takeout on the eve and a big dinner on the day, so there will be plenty of pigging out and fun times together. We are welcoming my cousins from Ottawa this year and we...

I love this time of year when I get to read everyone’s sewing reflection posts and ogle their favourite makes. It's really fun to look back at the year and I am always so happy that I have my blog for that reason. Gillian is hosting the Top 5 series again this year and I am excited to share mine! I like to put my own spin on this by giving each piece an award, and of course, I couldn’t keep it to 5 - #sorrynotsorry. Click on the photo of each project to go to the full blog post....

Happy Wednesday, makers! Can you believe we are halfway through December already? My mind is racing with 2018 sewing plans and resolutions. I have to admit I am a little bit of a resolution junkie - always making more than I could ever keep. Even though this may seem like a pointless endeavor, I really love making them anyway and I don't give myself a hard time if they don't all stick.  I like to let myself get swept up in self-reflection and goal setting because it helps me visualize my future. The things that do stick with me make all the difference...

Roscoe Dress

Ahhhh, the Roscoe Dress. This dress and I have had a real 'will they/won't they' storyline since its release back in 2015. When I first saw it I was like, cute, but not for me. I think I was having flashbacks to when peasant blouses became popular and I was so against them because they made my already broad shoulders look like a linebacker's. Then I saw Caroline in her Roscoe and she looked so put together and chic! This is definitely one of those patterns that really sings in real life. Of course, Kelli looks amazing in her versions,...

Suki Kimono

If there is a special lady in your life you would like to sew a handmade gift for, look no further than the Suki Kimono! Suki is a wonderfully personal gift that anyone is sure to use and cherish all year round. I recently made a Suki for my sister who is 8 months pregnant. I just know that once the baby comes, her Suki is going to be the ultimate loungewear/nursing garment for her first year as a new mom. It got me thinking about what a great gift Suki would make for the holidays, for a sister, friend,...

Happy December, makers! This is the final month of the year and it has got me thinking about my 2017 sewing goals and things like the #2017makenine challenge. I didn't quite make it through all of my plans or reach all of my goals but I am incredibly happy with the things I did make this year. I am looking forward to reflecting back a bit this month on the blog so I hope you come and check out some of my posts on that topic! News (clockwise from top left) BluePrints for sewing released the Moderne Coat. In the Folds...
