Cuff thumbholes

So many of you have picked up the Blackwood Cardigan since its release last march and I am so pleased with the response to it over the past 6 months. I'm glad you love this simple, sleek style as much as I do and I am happy to have provided the community with a well-loved pattern that will stand the test of time.  In celebration of Blackwood Cardigan Week here on the blog, I am sharing some simple Blackwood Cardigan hacks that you can easily do to switch things up a bit. On Tuesday I shared a tutorial for making...

It is absolutely humbling to see the hundreds of Blackwoods out there in the world now, and I never tire of getting tagged in new posts on Instagram! You can look at the #blackwoodcardigan hashtag to see so many great versions and get inspired by fabric choice, alterations, and some seriously great styling. Today I want to highlight a few of my favourite Blackwoods that I have seen out there so far! Side note: Caroline and I talked on the Love to Sew Podcast about asking permission before sharing makes from others, and I decided to adopt this practice moving forward...

Happy Wednesday, makers! This week I am working hard on my next pattern as well as some upcoming fall projects! I will be participating in the Refashioners 2017, so I've got a suit jacket that looks like it's been through hell on my sewing table, ripped to pieces and spilling interfacing guts everywhere. Hello, makers! I hope you are all having a great week and are enjoying the last days of summer! I can feel the weather cooling down now here in Vancouver and I have just finished two new Blackwood Cardigans for those early layering days when you can get chilled by the shade or the wind. I love the crisp, cool air these days and I am getting all those familiar 'back to school' feelings that are vestiges of youth. It's nice to take advantage of those feelings and make some fall/winter goals for yourself! I just completed my first goal of the...

It is a particularly happy Wednesday today, makers! Today marks the 100th Wednesday Weekly roundup! Its been just about 2 years since I started the Wednesday weekly back in 2o15 (you can check out the very first one here). My goal from the beginning was to create a news resource for the sewing community where you can find out about pattern releases, community events, and, of course, admire each other's makes! I have always tried my best to share new blogs that I find so we can all continue to expand our networks and connect with each other. I also love...
